Friday Night Video

I was going to skip tonight- like I have so often lately, but I came across the following video this afternoon.

I love background stuff on tv shows and movies. It's interesting to hear what the thought processes were in developing a story, how scenes were constructed, what obsticlales were faced- all that kind of stuff.

This is an interview with Jason Alexander about some Seinfeld background stuff. Some of the stories he relates I've heard before, most I have not. There's a few things I like about this video.

First, of course, is Jason Alexander. From what I've read about him, he seems like a real decent person- quite the opposite of his character in the show. I thought he was the best part of Seinfeld and most of the time, I felt he was the lead character and Jerry was in a support role. Why he was the only one of the four not to win an Emmy is beyond me.

The other thing I like about this is it's only him talking. You don't hear the voice of the person doing the interview, or worse- see reaction shots of the interviewer smiling or nodding knowingly and becoming more important than the person being interviewed.

Its pretty good if you like this kind of thing...
