The first day of vacation this year was pretty different than in years past. Way back, in another era, our routine was: we would first get a weekly beach sticker then we may or may not go to the beach. Or we may or may not go to the playground. Then, after one of those two, we would head to the cottage where we would unload and setup all our stuff, go grocery shopping, grab some dinner and then after dinner, we would go to a nearby Christmas Tree Shop, then head over to the Windy Beach. Then it was back to the cottage for showers and collapsing (me, anyway) for the night.
This year, it was directly to the beach - no weekly sticker, only a sticker for the day. From there, it was over to the Airbnb, then grocery shopping, then... mostly nothing.
As of the past summer, the Christmas Tree Shops are no more, so that was out. And since Jake and Lauren would be meeting us up here later this evening, there was no Windy Beach. No fun walking the Windy Beach without the entire family.
So it was an evening of (mostly) unwinding.
Even though I'm a slave to routine, it seemed to work out just fine.
No time for many pictures, though. Here are a few to start...
An old familiar view. You've seen it before. You'll see it again. |
A little bit better camera this year. Here's a zoomed-in view from the same location. |
And off to collect rocks and shells. Like we never left. |
And that, is ALL of the photos from that first exciting day! More to come... at some point.
